MIDDLEBORO, Mass. — The Glens Falls Greenjackets came within a couple of yards of pulling out a victory in their season opener Saturday night.
A fumble by the Jackets near the goal line in the final minutes allowed the Middleboro Cobras to hold on for an 18-14 victory in the New England Football League opener for both teams.
Glens Falls, which defeated Middleboro in last year’s NEFL championship game, trailed 12-0 in the third quarter before rallying for a 14-12 lead.
